Angielska Grobla
This two-level apartment was designed for a passionate admirer of classic design, art, and horse racing. The interior brings together timeless forms, refined materials, and carefully curated objects that reflect the owner’s personal interests. Subtle references to the equestrian world appear throughout the decorative details and color palette, giving the space a distinctive identity. The overall aesthetic embraces contemporary classicism, where tradition meets modern design with effortless elegance.
At the heart of the apartment is a spacious, double-height living area. Tall windows, abundant natural light, and dark wood flooring create an architectural backdrop for distinctive furnishings. Deep shades of green, olive velvet, mustard accents, and warm wood tones evoke the atmosphere of traditional English country estates and exclusive equestrian clubs. Decorative wallpaper featuring a delicate geometric pattern adds depth to the walls, while vibrant yellow curtains introduce a bold contrast of color.
The open kitchen and dining area flow naturally into the living room, where a generously sized sofa is paired with a vintage wall unit and a richly patterned Persian rug. A brass telescope mounted on a wooden tripod holds a special place in the interior, evoking the tradition of watching horse races and the atmosphere of historic sporting clubs. Equestrian motifs, expressed through small sculptures and decorative accessories, subtly reference the owner’s passion for horses and racing.
At the entrance, a striking wall mural creates a memorable first impression. Its painterly composition, inspired by classical landscape art, introduces an almost theatrical sense of perspective, adding depth and visual intrigue to the space.

On the upper level, beneath the sloping roof, a more intimate private retreat unfolds. The bedroom is defined by deep shades of navy, charcoal gray, and natural wood. Custom-built cabinetry, carefully tailored to the attic’s unique geometry, provides space for books and personal belongings, while soft textiles and an Oriental rug introduce layers of rich textures. A particularly distinctive accent is a leather saddle—a direct reflection of the owner’s passion for equestrian pursuits, thoughtfully incorporated as an integral part of the interior design.
The project draws inspiration from the aesthetic of classic English interiors, where wood, velvet, Oriental rugs, and collectible objects coexist with personal keepsakes. Rather than offering a literal interpretation of a historical style, however, the design brings these traditional influences into the present. Contemporary lighting, bold color combinations, and striking architectural features give the interior a distinctive, modern identity.
